PandaCrawl

Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow

Bing search performance, index health and URL submission, plus IndexNow to notify Bing, Yandex and others of new pages, in the app and over MCP.

PandaCrawl connects to Bing Webmaster Tools so you can see how your site does in Bing, find what Bing can't crawl, and ask Bing to crawl new pages. It matters beyond Bing's own traffic: Microsoft Copilot answers from Bing's index, and ChatGPT search draws on it, so a page Bing hasn't indexed is often missing from those answers too.

Open it from a project's sidebar under My Site → Bing Insights, or use the MCP tools from an agent.

Connect

  1. In Bing Webmaster Tools, add and verify your site if you haven't already.
  2. Go to Settings → API Access and generate an API key.
  3. In PandaCrawl, open Settings, paste the key under Bing Webmaster Tools and choose Connect key. PandaCrawl checks the key with Bing before saving it, and stores it encrypted. One key covers every site in that Bing account, for the whole workspace.
  4. In each project, open Project settings → Integrations → Bing Webmaster Tools and choose the project's site. Only verified sites can be chosen.

Disconnecting the key in Settings stops Bing data for every project in the workspace. Disconnecting in a project only unlinks that project's site.

What you get

  • Search performance. Clicks, impressions, CTR and average position for your top queries and pages over the last 4, 12 or 26 weeks, compared with the same span before it. Bing reports these as weekly totals for your top queries and pages, so the numbers cover whole weeks and don't include every long-tail query.
  • Daily traffic. Clicks and impressions per day for the last 90 days, across all Bing surfaces including Copilot.
  • Index health. Pages in Bing's index, pages crawled and crawl errors in the last 30 days, 4xx and 5xx counts, pages blocked by robots.txt, and the URLs Bing has trouble crawling, with their HTTP code and how many links point at them.
  • Keyword research. How many times Bing users searched a keyword in the last 90 days, its weekly trend, and up to about 40 related searches. These are Bing impressions, not Google search volume, so use them to compare keywords and find related searches rather than to size a market. It needs only the API key, not a verified site.
  • URL submission. Paste URLs (one per line) to ask Bing to crawl them now. Through Bing's API, each site can submit a limited number of URLs (for example 100 a day and 200 a month); PandaCrawl shows what's left and refuses a batch that would go over. Once IndexNow is set up for the project, the same box sends URLs through IndexNow instead, with no monthly cap.

Everything here is free: Bing's API doesn't charge, and PandaCrawl doesn't meter it or use credits for it.

IndexNow

IndexNow is an open protocol: one request tells Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and Yep that pages are new or changed. It needs no search engine account, has no monthly cap, and accepts up to 10,000 URLs at a time.

  1. Open Project settings → Integrations → IndexNow and choose Set up IndexNow. PandaCrawl creates a key for the project.
  2. Download the key file and upload it to your site's root, so it opens at https://yoursite.com/<key>.txt. The file holds only the key, which is public by design.
  3. Choose Verify. PandaCrawl fetches the file; if your site redirects (for example to www), the host it ends up on is the one your URLs must use.

Once verified, submit URLs from the IndexNow card, or from the crawl box on Bing Insights, which switches to IndexNow automatically. If the key file later disappears, IndexNow rejects submissions; PandaCrawl marks the project unverified and asks you to put the file back.

Submit pages when you publish or meaningfully update them, not on a schedule: engines treat IndexNow as a hint, and resubmitting unchanged pages doesn't help.

MCP tools

ToolWhat it does
list_bing_sitesSites in the workspace's Bing account, whether each is verified, and which one the project uses.
set_bing_siteChoose the verified site a project uses.
get_bing_performanceTop queries or pages with clicks, impressions, CTR and position over the last N weeks, with totals against the N weeks before.
get_bing_index_statusIndex health, top crawl issues and the URL submissions left today and this month.
inspect_bing_urlWhat Bing knows about one URL: HTTP status, when it was discovered and last crawled, and inbound links.
submit_urls_to_bingAsk Bing to crawl up to 100 URLs now, within Bing's quota.
get_bing_keyword_dataBing impressions for a keyword over the last 90 days, its weekly trend, and related searches.
setup_indexnowGet the project's IndexNow key (created on first call), the file URL to serve it at, and whether it's verified.
submit_urls_to_indexnowTell every IndexNow engine about up to 10,000 new or changed URLs.

The API key itself is added in Settings, not over MCP. If a tool reports that Bing rejected the key, generate a new one in Bing Webmaster Tools and save it again.

An agent that can edit the site's code can set up IndexNow end to end: call setup_indexnow, add the key file it returns (for example public/<key>.txt), deploy, and call setup_indexnow again to verify.

A typical agent loop: after publishing or updating pages, call submit_urls_to_indexnow (or submit_urls_to_bing without IndexNow) with their URLs; a few days later, call inspect_bing_url to confirm Bing crawled them, and get_bing_index_status to catch pages Bing can't reach.
